Entry #1: Predestination (2014)

So, Predestination was a really good film. It’s hard to talk about without giving too much away, but it (obviously) deals with the predestination paradox. The two leads, Ethan Hawke and Sarah Snook both perform admirably in this character driven story, based on Robert Heinlein’s “All You Zombies” short story. I give this high marks for story and character. As with many time travel (TT) films, the science/rules is nearly non-existent. In this story, time travel was created/discovered in 1981, and you can’t jump further that 53 years beyond the creation (either way). All this is wrapped up in a 95 minute film. Well done, and a great way to get this Year of Time Travel movies in motion. I’ve already seen how this ends, but for the rest of you, please enjoy the ride!
